NBC4 Washington: Local DC News App Reviews

This used to be my go-to news app but not anymore. The inability to stop or pause those invasive, band-width eating video ads are a deal breaker. I no longer use it and have moved onto Fox5s app. Better and much, much less annoying. Fix it and maybe Ill come back. New ad revenue? Hows that working out?

I have stopped using this app and instead I am using the ABC Channel 7 app for local news. The annoying ad lasts 15 seconds even if the video I want to see is only ten seconds long. It is particularly annoying if you want to look at the video for another story and have to watch the same ad again.

I used to love their Storm Team 4 app, which provided a very informative summary of the morning and the evening weather, but this new combined weather-and-news app provides about one-tenth the detail. For example, the old app would say "showers early then clearing through the a.m. commute. Highs in the mid-70s and lows in the lower 60s". Now, this new app simply reads "Moderate rain. Chance of precipitation 30%." Its almost as I informative as the Apple weather app.

If you start with weather page and just use that then this app is pretty good, but that is it. Any news article has an annoying pop up video add that plays over and over. Im moving to another news source because of this. I understand advertising but this one is way too much especially when it drives your viewers away!

Thank you for fixing the Auto-play issue on the latest update. The app is back to being awesome again.

You still cannot "Watch News 4 Live" with this app. Only network shows through your service provider. Only reason I downloaded app.

This new weather app is horrible wish they werent retiring the other weather app.

Really??? Your NBC4 Weather app was my “go to” for weather. Now you want to give me the same juke as the other lousy apps. Now deleting your app and looking for something better. Congratulations for taking a giant leap backwards.

What happened to this? Links no longer correspond to stories that are displayed. Stories have numerous spelling errors. I am removing this.

Crashes regularly, sometime provides nothing but a blank screen, locks up, etc. etc.

NBC4 used to have the best weather forecasting around. The app was clean, easy and quite accurate. I could plan my days by the forecast. Sadly they scrapped the weather app, folded it into the news app and made it harder on the eyes (white background) and less features. I have deleted both from all my devices

Encouraged to download this update and find its portrait only in format. Not what I want or expected.

Latest update fixed landscape mode on iPad mini But if you use an hdmi adaptor the picture will be sideways. Please keep working on this app I love NBC4 WRC

Terrible. Cannot view in landscape mode on iPad. Definitely not as good as previous version. Please fix.

Not only is this app only portrait, its only one way up! Whos idea was that? And who thought it would be okay!?! I use my iPad upside down so as to not damage the power cord, so this is unusable now. Yuck. I dont think I like the new layout either. I use the DC app because I want DC news, not world events.

Please fix it. No rotation, terrible format, boring look (wheres the color)?

Less informative, that is, to me. The old maps view in the previous version was right on when telling me when the rain/snow was getting to my house. Harder to figure out on this one.

It looks like I will have to find another weather app. Should have left things the way they were.

Did the Staff REALLY take a look at this , what a mess, so lets go back to the old its as others have stated was GREAT!

Seems I cant open the app anymore. Did you folks do something? Havent been able to view news since a few days back.
