NBC4 Washington: Local DC News App Reviews

I used to watch NBC4 team every morning when I woke up, but now every time I try to watch the app crashes on me. Please fix this so I dont have to download another news app!

At least half the time when I try to read a news story the app crashes. Please fix!!

...it doesnt work. App loads but when you click on anything, it crashes. Looks like it could be a decent app but its got to work. Officials say they are working to resolve the problem but no timeline has been given. Back to you, Doreen.

Terrible. I cant understand why this remains in the app store.

Heres a dirty secret for everybody: The "Storm Team 4" app still works. I use it all the time, and Im not getting rid of it.

Updated the app - started live streaming the news - after about a minute, the audio stopped, but video feed continues. Closed the app and reopened, still same results. I deleted the app and downloaded again - same outcome, audio stops during live news stream.

I turn the alerts off in locations but it does not save the setting. So I keep getting alerts - and not just for this location. Will have to delete the app.

The weather forecasts are truncated, with no option to see the full forecast. Theres no contrast, and its hard to read.

The grammar, spelling, and writing style makes my eyes bleed. Its hard to believe anyone is even taking a look at these articles before theyre published. Names are thrown into stories without being introduced or put in context. Acronyms are often used without explanations. Ive had the app for about a year and just deleted it. This isnt journalism. This is writing that was subcontracted to middle schoolers.

The subject heading says it still. I STILL MUCH prefer the StormTeam 4 weather app for various reasons. It is much easier to read, navigate, interpret, etc. The graphics are much better. NBC, just take the hint from the various users and people who comment here who use the StormTeam 4 weather app over all others, just leave it alone. Take it away and youll have a lot of unhappy people.

For as much as they push it on the air like every other sentence you would think that this app was good. But instead most of the time it makes my phone freeze up and causes problems with other apps, not to mention the issues with the weather and alerts that others have mentioned. I wish I had money for every time they mention the NBC Washington (cr)app on air because Id be getting rich. Hopefully theyll fix this app at some point or trash it and start from scratch.

As many others have noted, this app is less than spectacular. Its clunky and not something I enjoy using at all. My biggest complaint is that this is supposed to replace the Storm Team 4 weather app. This one is nowhere near an adequate replacement. The graphics and layout are duds. Sometimes you JUST want the weather, not headlines or other distractions. If the weather app is discontinued, I will NOT use this one as a replacement.

Less functionality, more intrusive ads and the replacement for the storm team 4 ap is not nearly as informative as the dedicated ap Channel 4 is "retiring soon." They ruined the weather feature. I am deleting this ap and will use the storm team 4 ap until they "retire" it. Giving this ap one star is being generous.

No stars. Constantly crashing, poorly organized so one has to go three screens to get live news and weather. Updates dont help fix the issues. If you want people to use the app make it worth the bother. Im listening to local npr instead now.
